Overview
The Zeutschel “OS A W”, also known as “The Wall”, is an innovative workflow solution specially designed for the digitization of artworks and historical documents in both museums and for cultural heritage photographers. The system enables the secure, precise and efficient reproduction of images, paintings and other cultural assets directly from the raw camera data and meets the highest archiving standards (ISO-19264-1, FADGI, Metamorfoze).
Powerful functions
In combination with the OmniScan software and the “The Wall” module, the system offers a range of tools that meet the highest quality standards and optimize the efficiency of the digitization process.
- One Click Calibration: This simple calibration function captures all relevant scene parameters (light setting, scale, geometry) using a calibration target and automatically corrects distortion, colors and light gradients, with just one click. The result is high-quality digitized images without post-processing.
- Advanced image optimization: OmniScan enables the creation of scene-specific camera raw profiles and offers OECF (Opto-Electronic Conversion Function) correction for perfect greyscale. . The software, with over 52 years of development, offers tailor-made functions specifically for the digitization of cultural assets.
- True color capture in 4 and 16 shot mode: Supports certain cameras to create interpolation-free, high-resolution true color captures. This ensures detailed reproduction without loss of quality.
“The Wall” module for large-format digitization
This module is ideal for large-format originals such as paintings, maps, plans and posters. With the help of a sliding easel, precise laser adjustment, a camera system mounted on a tripod and optimum lighting, large-format works can be captured quickly and reliably, whilst remaining in position. The laser helps to align the camera exactly perpendicular to the original, while the calibration target is used again for calibration. After calibration, the original is captured and with just one click OmniScan produces a digitized image that meets the highest archiving standards.
OmniScan software & OS A W module
OmniScan software and “The Wall” module enable seamless capture and digitization of complex originals. Thanks to innovative technologies and precise geometric correction, a studio camera can be used as a mobile scanner and large format originals can be captured in tiles and seamlessly stitched together. The end result is a geometrically perfect and homogeneously illuminated image of the original that is true to tone and color.
